Amir joined Axiom Space’s founding team as Employee #1 in 2016. Today Axiom is the world’s leading commercial space station company. It has over $2.7 billion in contracts with space agencies and commercial customers globally. Axiom is building the successor to the International Space Station (ISS) and space suits that will be used on the moon. To date, Axiom company has flown twelve astronauts and over 50 payloads to orbit.

On April 8th, 2022, the date of the photo, Axiom launched its first crew to the ISS. Cici & Amir were in Florida with the astronaut family members, observing as the crew docked with the ISS. It was an emotional moment - one of accomplishment and excitement for all that ls ahead for the astronauts and for the company.

The astronauts returned to Earth after 17 later, having broken many research records in orbit. They conducted over 20 public affairs events from space to inspire the kids, teens and college students who are the next generation of explorers and innovators. The mission utilized a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, and Amir had the honor of giving the mission’s heartfelt closing remarks that can be viewed here.
